Brown Sugar Chai Shaken Espresso

Inspired by a very popular drink at a very popular coffee chain. This version of the beverage includes a homemade Chai spice and a touch of vanilla.
Chai Spice Blend
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground cardamom
- ⅕ tsp ground allspice
- ⅕ tsp ground clove
- ⅕ tsp nutmeg
- ⅕ tsp ginger
Other Ingredients
- 2 oz espresso
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (more or less to taste)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup Milkadamia or any milk of choice
- 2 cups ice
Instructions
Chai Spice Blend
- Combine all spices in a small bowl.
Other Instructions
- Add the brown sugar and vanilla extract to the bottom of an espresso cup. Pull a double shot of espresso over the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Stir to melt the brown sugar.
- Pour the espresso into a cocktail shaker or mason jar. Add the Chai spice blend and 1 cup of ice. Shake vigorously until chilled and combined.
- Fill a cup with the remaining 1 cup of ice. Pour the espresso mixture over the ice. Top with Milkadamia or your milk of choice. Stir to combine.
